Objectives
SPORTTRIC was developed as an assessment and benchmarking instrument for measuring the level of sport and physical activity development within higher education institutions.
The framework evaluates institutional performance across four key dimensions:
-
Policy and Governance – institutional commitment, strategic planning, regulations, and resource allocation that support sport and physical activity.
-
Infrastructure and Facilities – the availability, adequacy, quality, and accessibility of facilities that enable participation in sport and physical activity.
-
Participation and Programs – engagement of the university community in physical activity, structured sport programs, events, and sporting achievements.
-
Research and Community Engagement – research, innovation, publications, and community outreach initiatives related to sport, physical activity, health, and well-being.
Through these dimensions, SPORTTRIC aims to provide universities with a clear framework for assessing current performance, identifying development priorities, and strengthening the contribution of sport and physical activity to institutional excellence and societal impact.
